The article is addressing a serious social problem that is taken lightly by the world population. The writer is telling people to not fool themselves into believing the STDs noted in this article no longer exists or are under control. The opposite is the truth of the situation. Actually the STDs are on the rise and people from every country are getting the diseases.
As the STD's became more of an outbreak in the 1970s than in other generations, people became more accepting of the STDs. Even with the outbreak of AIDS and HIV/AIDS, people are still practicing unsafe sex.
While people may acquire the STDs through unsafe sexual practices, they also acquire them through blood. The use of same needles for drugs may often contain trace amounts of contaminated blood. With that blood comes the STDs. And the cycle of transmission continues through sex and drug usage.
The writer offered ways to halt the spread of STDs and that was to wait until marriage to become sexually active with only your spouse. The writer noted a pretty obvious, people don't normally catch an STD from a faithful partner. The practice of safe sex can lead to peace of mind and a long life free from diseases caught from sex partners who may not honest with a person about their promiscuity. This article is one in which everyone may read. It brings back to mind that we must take precautions when engaging in sexual practices. While sex is safer with one person it is even better for people married to a faithful partner that does not have a STD.
