Depending on the age of the child the teaching style is important. And prior to beginning the first lesson, a few vital considerations factor into the successful experience of learning to play a guitar. First, what is the child's learning style? Is the child auditory and has to hear how things go before trying a task? Is the child visual and has to see how it works first? Is the child tactile and must have hands on experience before learning the new task? Is the child's temperament social and enjoys the company of others? The child may do well in a group learning environment. Is the child shy and prefers a one-on-one learning environment? This child may do well in a private class.
