"Helping the Homeless" is an article that reminds us that are living pretty well to have compassion for the less fortunate. As the writer noted, a person never knows their future and they could easily fall into the grips of hardship and find ourselves in the food lines.
Realizing many of the homeless are victims of mental illness, they are not fully capable of taking care of themselves in the first place. Living on the streets is the last stop for many of them. But the writer noted, getting to know homeless individuals, could reveal eye opening information that reminds us that we are fortunate to be where we are today. Many of the homeless probably never envisioned they would end up wandering the streets and trying to find food and shelter from day to day.
The writer reminded us there are many ways we could offer help to the homeless. Be a volunteer in one of the many approved services that try to get people off the streets and into a place that will provide them basic human needs. If we can not volunteer the organizations time, we could offer food, clothing and other donations that will help the organizations. The items will help better manage the shelters and food closets set up for that very purpose. I would recommend this website and article to others.
