"Joe's Story of Empowerment" is a reminder to all of us not to allow our life circumstances to get the best of us or let life  circumstances define the person we will become. The story about Joe is inspiring for a number of reasons. Joe was given an opportunity in his youth to become someone but it was taken from him. He could have used the situation to feel cheated out of his chance. Instead he used his situation to help people with physical situations similar to his to improve their lives. Joe used his handicap as an example to show able-bodied people that individuals with handicaps are just as capable of handling responsibility as anyone without known handicaps.

Joe's story reminded us that we actually have not excuses that will justify not doing our very best under life circumstance. We all face obstacles but in most cases they are not insurmountable. what makes them that way is our attitude. Its more a mental thing than a physical thing. If we put our minds to the task at hand, we can usually figure out a way to work out the problem.

The story of Joe should be shared with people of all ages and life styles. The reason, we sometimes forget, that life is not handed to us on a silver spoon, that we all must give it a full wholehearted chance and we may surprise even ourselves.
